This machine features automatic grinding, tamping, and brewing, and a Pannarello wand to make creating cappuccinos a lattes a simple process. And, thanks to the Rapid Steam system, there?s almost no downtime between brewing and steaming, so you can create back-to-back cappuccinos for guests when you entertain. A straightforward control panel on the front of the Villa lets you select liquid volume for your espresso, and how many cups you want to brew. Knobs to adjust the coffee grind and dosing are located right in the bean hopper on the top of the machine. Cleaning is also a snap, thanks to a removable drip tray, internal dump box, and water reservoir. You can even remove the brew group periodically for a quick rinse, ensuring fresh, flavorful espresso every time you brew. The Saeco Spidem Villa features easy-to-use controls that streamline the brewing process. The buttons on the front left side of the machine control power, brewing, and steaming. A dial located below these buttons lets you set your beverage volume, and knobs in the bean hopper adjust grinder dosing and fineness. Brewing espresso on the Villa is as easy as placing a cup underneath the dispensing spout, turning the adjustable beverage volume dial to your desired size, and pressing the brewing button once for 1 coffee and twice for 2. The Saeco Spidem Villa will take care of grinding, dosing, and tamping, and in a few moments, you?ll have rich, flavorful espresso in your cup. If there are a few members of your household that swear by drip coffee, the Saeco Spidem Villa offers a great choice for them: crema coffee. This flavorful espresso-based beverage is created by running 5-8oz of water through a typical dose of ground coffee. Simply set the grinder to a slightly courser setting, turn the beverage volume dial to your desired amount of coffee, and press the brewing button. The result is a smooth coffee with a light layer of crema. Just one sip, and drip coffee lovers will be sold. When you?re entertaining friends, or have multiple latte or cappuccino drinkers in your home, the Rapid Steam system ensures you can switch between brewing and frothing with little downtime. This steam system is separate from the boiler used for brewing, ensuring that there is always steam ready to make your favorite drinks. Just press the steam button on the control panel, and once the green light by the button illuminates, you can dispense steam by turning the knob on the right side of the machine. The Rapid Steam system gives you the power to make cappuccinos and lattes, while the Pannarello attachment on the steam wand lets you do so with ease. This black plastic attachment on the steam wand helps to evenly distribute steam throughout your frothing pitcher, letting you create foamed and steamed milk for a variety of drinks. You can even steam milk for extra-rich hot chocolate. Great espresso depends on a fine, consistent grind. That?s why the engineers at Saeco designed the Spidem Villa with a professional-grade conical burr grinder with a variety of settings. To change the grind setting based on your tastes and the type of espresso you are brewing, just turn the numbered knob in the bean hopper. The grinder also features an automatic shut-off function to ensure it won?t overheat if a foreign particle becomes lodged in the burrs. To get the most flavor from your espresso, the Saeco Spidem Villa features a pre-infusion system that will inject your ground coffee with hot water just prior to brewing. This will help to pull out more of the coffee?s essential oils, resulting in a more flavorful, aromatic shot. To accommodate a variety of tastes, the Saeco Spidem Villa features adjustable coffee dosing using Saeco?s OptiDose system. You can set the Villa to grind between 6 and 9 grams of coffee beans by turning a knob in the bean hopper. Combined with the grinder settings, changing the amount of coffee dispensed will change the strength of your espresso. If you want to enjoy a beverage other than espresso, such as tea or hot chocolate, the Spidem Villa is ready to meet your needs. Just place a cup underneath the steam wand while the machine is at brewing temperature, open the steam knob, and hot water will be dispensed into your cup. This is also a great feature when you want to make rich americanos, or instant soups. It can be a pain to stop and refill your water reservoir, especially when you?re brewing for a crowd. The Villa comes with a removable 57oz water reservoir, and a red light on the control panel will flash to let you know if the water level is low. Plus, it?s removable, so filling and cleaning are always a snap. To make maintenance easy, and to keep your espresso at its best, the Saeco Spidem Villa has a removable brew group. Easily accessed from the front service door of the machine, the brew group will slide out with a click of the release lever. By periodically removing and rinsing this component with warm water, you will keep your espresso tasting fresh and delicious. In addition to a removable brew group, the Saeco Spidem Villa also has a removable drip tray and internal dump box. The dump box has enough room for 15 spent espresso pucks, and can be accessed from the front panel of the machine. Both the drip tray and dump box should be periodically removed and cleaned with warm water and non-abrasive detergent. Descaling is an important cleaning cycle to keep your espresso machine in top shape because it removes build-up from the internal components of the machine. It should be performed every 2-3 months, and the detailed user?s manual features instructions on how to complete this process. To make accessing all of the Saeco Spidem Villa?s components simple, it features a swivel base. This allows you to rotate the machine without having to pick it up off of the counter.
